A 21 year old farmer in Pontotoc County, he enlisted as Private, Company I, 2nd Mississippi Infantry, date not given.

On the Campaign

He was wounded in the right thigh in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He was furloughed and returned to duty. He was wounded again, place not given, and admitted to a hospital on 27 July 1863. He was hospitalized again on 10 November 1863 for a wound to the foot. He was listed as "deserted to the enemy" on 24 March 1864.
