A 21 year old farmer, he enlisted as Private, Company I, 2nd Mississippi Infantry, date not given.

On the Campaign

He was wounded in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He was furloughed 10 October 1862 for 60 days and then returned to his Company. He was wounded and captured at Gettysburg, PA on 1 July 1863 and died in a US Army hospital there on 5 (or 13) July 1863.
