He enlisted at Anderson in Grimes County as a Private in Company G, 4th Texas Infantry on 15 March 1862 and reported to his new regiment on 1 May.

On the Campaign

He was in action with his Company at Fox's Gap on South Mountain on 14 September and was wounded at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He was with his Company to at least November 1864 with no later military record.
