He was wounded in the leg in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He was 2nd Sergeant by November 1862 and was commissioned Jr. 2nd Lieutenant on 15 May 1863. He was promoted to 2nd Lieutenant on 10 May 1864 and on furlough on 27 February 1865 with no further record.
