Before Sharpsburg

He enlisted as Private, Company B, Phillips' Legion Infantry Battalion on 1 March 1862. He was wounded at Beverly's Ford, VA on 23 August 1862.

On the Campaign

He rejoined his Company in Maryland on 16 September. On the 17th at Sharpsburg he was wounded by gunshot to the leg, and while trying to tend to that, was shot through the head and died instantly.

The rest of the War

He was buried on the field.
