Before Sharpsburg
From Polk County, he enlisted as Private, Company D, Phillips' Legion Infantry Battalion on 14 May 1862 at Camp Prichard, SC.
On the Campaign
He was wounded in action at Fox's Gap on South Mountain on 14 September 1862.
The rest of the War
He transferred to the 3rd Georgia Sharpshooter Battalion in May 1863. He was severely wounded at the Wilderness, VA on 6 May 1864 with no further military record.
After the War
He lived in Polk County, GA for the rest of his life.
