Before Sharpsburg
Age 18, he enlisted as Private, Company D, Phillips' Legion Infantry Battalion on 14 June 1861.
On the Campaign
He was wounded in the shoulder in action on the Maryland Campaign - either at Fox's Gap on 14 September, or at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.
The rest of the War
He was captured at Sailor's Creek, VA on 6 April 1865 and held at Point Lookout, MD until 29 June 1865.
After the War
He was living in Arkansas by 1880 and moved to Oklahoma in January 1903 and was a farmer there. He was granted an Oklahoma Confederate pension in 1916, as was his widow after his death.
