He was wounded in the leg in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He was furloughed home from General Hospital #13 in Richmond, VA on 16 October 1862 and was lisged absent, sick on Company rolls in 1863 and to January 1864. He was detailed as a nurse to the Winder hospital in Richmond on 6 May 1864. He was furloughed to Griffin, GA on 20 August and received pay in Atlanta on 16 October. He was listed as absent without leave on 31 December 1864 with no further military record.
