He reenlisted on 20 September 1863 (1864?) near Chattanooga, TN and was surrendered at Appomattox Court House, VA on 9 April 1865.

He married Permelia Vervelia Williams (1849-1932) in 1872 in Blount County, AL and they had at least one child.
