On the Campaign

He was wounded by gunshot to the arm and captured in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He was treated briefly at a US Army hospital in Frederick, MD from 12 to 13 October, then sent on to Baltimore, MD, probably for exchange.

After the War

He survived the war but lost his arm.
