He was captured in action at Boonsboro (Turner's Gap), on South Mountain, MD on 14 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He was surrendered with his Company at Appomattox Court House, VA on 9 April 1865.

After the War

He applied for a Confederate service pension in York County in September 1919.
