On the Campaign
He was with his Company in action at Fox's Gap on South Mountain on 14 September, but listed as absent without leave at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.
The rest of the War
He was back with his Company soon afterward, but was absent, sick with pleurisy from 28 December 1862, then furloughed for 50 days on 8 March 1863. He did not return and was listed as absent without leave beginning 28 April 1863. There is no later military record.
