He was wounded in action on 17 September 1862 at Sharpsburg.

The rest of the War

He was captured in action at the North Anna, VA on 21 or 23 May 1864. He was paroled at Point Lookout, MD and exchanged on 14 or 15 February at Cox's Landing on the James River, VA. He was also listed as having been exchanged and died on 8 March 1865.
