Before Sharpsburg

Age 30, from Livingston, he enlisted in Company K, 7th Louisiana Infantry on 7 June 1861 at Camp Moore, LA. He was detailed as a hospital nurse into September 1861.

On the Campaign

He was captured on 18 September 1862 at Sharpsburg, probably while serving as a hospital steward and tending wounded troops.

The rest of the War

He was assigned to US Army General Hospital #5 in Frederick, MD in October. He was paroled on 25 October and sent to Ft. McHenry on the 31st. He was exchanged at Aiken's Landing, VA on 10 November. He was detailed as hospital nurse to at least February 1864 but died in Richmond, VA in June.
