Before Sharpsburg

From Rapides Parish, he enlisted in Company B, 2nd Louisiana Infantry on 9 May 1861 in New Orleans. He was frequently absent sick in 1861 and early 1862.

On the Campaign

He was wounded in action on 17 September 1862 at Sharpsburg.

The rest of the War

He was furloughed after Sharpsburg, and still absent from his Company in February 1864. He was in the CSA General Hospital in Shreveport, LA in April 1864, then furloughed again. He was captured and paroled at Alexandria, LA on 9 June 1865.
