Before Sharpsburg
He enlisted as Private in Company C, 2nd Louisiana Infantry on 11 May 1861 in New Orleans.
On the Campaign
He was captured about 17 September 1862 at Sharpsburg, possibly while tending wounded troops.
The rest of the War
He was detailed to a hospital near Sharpsburg and sent to Fort McHenry, MD on 12 November 1862. He was exchanged at City Point, VA on 21 November 1862. He was killed in action at Chancellorsville, VA on 2 May 1863.
