Before Sharpsburg

An unmarried 20 year old machinist in New Orleans, he enlisted as Private, Company H, First Louisiana Infantry on 2 May 1861 in New Orleans. He was elected Corporal on 29 April 1862.

On the Campaign

He was wounded in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He was reported as absent, wounded, his "whereabouts unknown", to at least August 1864 with no further record.
