Before Sharpsburg

An unmarried 30 year old painter in New Orleans, he enlisted in Company B, 5th Louisiana Infantry on 10 May 1861 in New Orleans.

On the Campaign

He was wounded in action on 17 September 1862 at Sharpsburg.

The rest of the War

He was absent, sick in Danville, VA into August 1863. He returned to his Company in September and was captured in action at Rappahannock Station, VA on 7 November 1863. He was held at Point Lookout, MD until exchanged on 10 March 1864. He was captured again, at Spotsylvania Court House, VA on 5 May 1864. He was sent back to Point Lookout, and died there on 15 July 1864.
