On the Campaign

He was captured in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He was sent to Fortress Monroe, VA from Ft McHenry, MD on 27 October 1862 and exchanged on 10 November 1862 at Aiken's Landing, VA. He was in a hospital into December 1862. He was detailed as an ambulance driver from January 1863 to October 1864 and was surrendered with his Company at Appomattox Court House, VA on 9 April 1865.
