A 20 year old farmer, he enlisted 26 July 1862 at Torrey in Yates County, and mustered on 22 August as Private in Company B, 126th New York Infantry.
On the Campaign
He was killed in action on Bolivar Heights at Harpers Ferry on 15 September 1862.
