A 24 year old carpenter, he enlisted at Corsicana in Navarro County as a Private in Company I, 4th Texas Infantry on 17 July 1861.

On the Campaign

He was in action with his Company at Fox's Gap on South Mountain on 14 September and at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He was appointed 3rd Sergeant by the end of 1863 and was wounded on 21 February 1864, place not given. He was a prisoner at Montgomery, AL and signed a parole there on 13 May 1865.

After the War

In 1910 he was a 72 year old farmer in Lafayette in Upshur County, TX.
