There were probably 4 Rowley brothers in the 77th New York: Charles W., bugler, was discharged for disability in July 1862; Gideon M., Pvt, killed at Antietam; Simeon E., Pvt, died in Nov 1862 in Hagerstown, cause not known; and John J., Pvt, joined the regiment after Antietam and survived the war but died shortly after in July 1865.
