A 20 year old farmer, he enlisted at Athens, TX as a Private in Company K, 4th Texas Infantry on 29 March 1862.

On the Campaign

He was in action with his Company at Fox's Gap on South Mountain on 14 September and was wounded in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He was wounded again, at Chickamauga, GA on 20 September 1863 and was appointed 4th Sergeant on 7 May 1864.

After the War

By 1900 and to at least 1910 he was a farmer in Henderson County, TX.
