Before Antietam

In 1860 he was a 17 farm worker on the Zimeri Ingalls place at Concord, Erie County, NY. He enlisted on 1 May 1861 in Buffalo and mustered as Private, Company H, 21st New York Infantry on 20 May.

On the Campaign

He was mortally wounded in the side in action at Antietam on 17 September 1862 and died the next day.
