Before Antietam

A 21 year old laborer in Philadelphia, he enlisted in Harrisburg on 25 June 1861 and mustered into service as Private, Company G, 12th Pennsylvania Reserves on 10 August.

On the Campaign

He was mortally wounded in action at Antietam on 17 September 1862 and died the next day.
