Before Antietam

A 22 year old laborer in Millerstown, he enlisted in Tioga County on 11 June 1861 and mustered into service as Private, Company A, 13th Pennsylvania Reserves the same day in Harrisburg. He was wounded at Gaines' Mill, VA on 27 June 1862.

On the Campaign

He was killed in action near Turner's Gap on South Mountain on 14 September 1862.
