Before Antietam
A 28 year old laborer in Perry County, he enlisted there on 27 May 1861 and mustered into service as Private, Company B, 13th Pennsylvania Reserves on 11 June in Harrisburg.
On the Campaign
He was wounded in action at Antietam on 16 or 17 September 1862.
The rest of the War
He mustered out with his Company on 11 June 1864.
