Before Antietam

A 24 year old plasterer, he mustered into service as Private, Company K, 13th Pennsylvania Reserves on 3 October 1861. He was captured at Mechanicsville, VA on 26 June 1862 and probably exchanged in August to return to duty.

On the Campaign

He was wounded in action at Antietam on 16 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He was discharged for disability on 20 April 1863.
