Before Antietam
A 23 year old farmer in Thompsontown, he enlisted there on 11 February 1862 and mustered into service as Private, Company E, 107th Pennsylvania Infantry on 26 February in Harrisburg.
On the Campaign
He was mortally wounded in action at Antietam on 17 September 1862.
The rest of the War
He died of his wounds in Baltimore, MD on 11 October 1862.
