He was wounded again, in Wills Valley, TN/AL, probably in the Fall of 1863, and was surrendered at Appomattox Court House on 9 April 1865.

After the War

He was a farmer in Laurens County by 1870 and lived there the rest of his life.

He married Temperance "Caroline" Mahaffey (1846-1906) in February 1867 and they had a daughter and 6 sons.
