He enlisted in Maryland on 10 September 1862 in Company D, 19th Virginia Infantry.
The rest of the War
He was wounded in action at Gettysburg, PA on 3 July 1863 and captured there on 5 July. He was paroled at the DeCamp General Hospital on David's Island in New York Harbor and returned to duty on 6 April 1864. He was furloughed for illness in September 1864 with no military record after October 1864.
