Before Sharpsburg
He mustered as Private, Company C, Palmetto Sharpshooters in May 1862.
On the Campaign
He was wounded by a gunshot to his thigh and captured in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.
The rest of the War
He was admitted to a US Army hospital in Frederick, MD on 12 October 1862 and transferred out to Baltimore the next day, probably for exchange. He was surrendered with his Company at Appomattox Court House, VA on 9 April 1865.
