From Pickens County, he mustered as Private, Company I, Palmetto Sharpshooters in May 1862.

On the Campaign

He was wounded in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He was surrendered with his Company at Appomattox Court House, VA on 9 April 1865.

After the War

By 1870 he was a farmer in Salubrity, Pickens County.

His service from the Rolls,1 as Rignal O. Williams, which says he died of his Sharpsburg wound, and his Compiled Service Records via the Historical Data Systems database. Personal details from family genealogists and the 1870 US Census. His gravesite is on Findagrave, as Reginald O. Williams.

His name is also seen in US Census and other records variously as Rigland O. Williams and Rignale Williams.
