A farmer's son, age 24, he enlisted on 23 March 1862 at Bowdon, GA and mustered as a Private in Company B, Cobb's Legion Infantry Battalion.

On the Campaign

He was reported missing at Crampton's Gap on South Mountain on 14 September 1862, with no later record, and was probably killed in action there.
