Before Sharpsburg

A 29 year old farmer from Conwayboro, Horry District, he enrolled as 3rd Lieutenant of Company L, 7th South Carolina Infantry on 26 June 1861. He was elected 2nd Lieutenant at the reorganization of 13 May 1862 and was promoted to First Lieutenant the next day.

On the Campaign

He was killed in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.
