On the Campaign

He was severely wounded and captured in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He was paroled on 27 September, was later exchanged, and returned to duty in July 1863. He was killed at Jericho Ford on the North Anna River, VA on 23 May 1864.
