He enrolled as 3rd Lieutenant of Company C, 12th South Carolina Infantry, and was promoted to 2nd Lieutenant in 1862.
On the Campaign
He was wounded in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.
The rest of the War
He was on furlough, and probably did not return to his Company. He was promoted to First Lieutenant in 1863 but was medically retired on 7 December 1864.
After the War
He was a farmer in Fairfield County.
