Before Sharpsburg
A 28 year old overseer in Fairfield, he enlisted as Private, Company C, 12th South Carolina Infantry on 20 August 1861.
On the Campaign
He was mortally wounded in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.
The rest of the War
He died of his wounds on 22 September 1862.
