Before Sharpsburg
A farmer at Bivingsville, Spartanburg District, he enlisted as Private, Company F, 7th South Carolina Infantry on 15 April 1861.
On the Campaign
He was wounded in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.
The rest of the War
He was at the Chimborazo Hospital in Richmond, VA from January to April 1863. He was wounded in action at Chickamauga, GA on 20 September 1863 and furloughed afterward, with no further military record.
After the War
He was a farmer in Spartanburg County and retired by 1900.

He married Martha Ellen Gossett (1834-1887) in 1861 and they had as many as 9 children. Her father's farm was very near Littleton's. He married again, Delila E. Waldrup (1848-1916) after 1887.
