Before Sharpsburg
A 22 year old farmer at Calhoun Mills, Abbeville District, he enlisted as a Private in Company C, 7th South Carolina Infantry on 15 April 1862.
On the Campaign
He was wounded in action on Maryland Heights, MD near Harpers Ferry on 13 September 1862.
The rest of the War
By 14 November he was in General Hospital #17 in Richmond, VA with phthisis pulmonalis (tuberculosis), and he was discharged for disability there on 21 November 1862.
After the War
By 1880 and to at least 1900 he was a farmer in Jefferson County, AL.
