Before Sharpsburg
A 17 year old farm worker in Donaldsville, Abbeville District, he enlisted as Private, Company B, 7th South Carolina Infantry on 21 July 1862.
On the Campaign
He was wounded in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.
The rest of the War
He was in the General Hospital in Culpeper, VA in October 1862, absent in March 1863, and paid to 31 August 1863 with no further military record.
