James Jefferson Dobbins

A 26 year old farmer in Shallowford, Anderson District, he enlisted as Private, Company H, 7th South Carolina Infantry on 1 July 1862.

He was wounded in action in Maryland; on Maryland Heights on 13 September or at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.

He was ill in General Hospital #13 in Richmond, VA by 13 October and died there of typhoid fever on 3 December 1862.

He married Martha/Matilda E Simmons (1839-) in about 1861 and they had a son Cary Jefferson Dobbins (1862-1926).
