Before Sharpsburg
A 31 year old farmer at Dorn's Mill, Edgefield District, he enlisted as Private, Company G, 7th South Carolina Infantry on 15 April 1861. He transferred to Company B, Hampton Legion Infantry after June 1862.
On the Campaign
He was captured at Frederick, MD in September 1862.
The rest of the War
He was paroled and released, but died of disease at his father's home on 14 November 1863.
