William F. Harris

A 28 year old farmer at Anderson, he enlisted as Private, Company K, 7th South Carolina Infantry on 9 August 1862.

He was mortally wounded in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.

He died of his wounds at home in the Anderson District, SC on 4 October 1862.

His service from Swain.1 His gravesite is on Findagrave; his stone says he "was wounded seven times in the battle of Sharpsburg Md."

He married Margaret Rebecca McConnell (1832-1912) in 1856 and they had a daughter Lucinda Rebecca (1857-1915), named for his mother.
