Before Sharpsburg
A 32 year old farmer at Anderson Court House, he enlisted as Private, Company D, 7th South Carolina Infantry on 18 July 1862.
On the Campaign
He was wounded in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.
The rest of the War
He was in hospitals in Staunton and Richmond, VA to 8 October 1862, then on a 30 day furlough. He was killed at the Wilderness, VA on 6 May 1864.
