Before Sharpsburg
A 24 year old farmer from Beach Island, Edgefield District, he enlisted as Private, Company F, 7th South Carolina Infantry on 1 June 1861.
On the Campaign
He was wounded in action on Maryland Heights near Harpers Ferry on 13 September 1862.
The rest of the War
He was on furlough from 14 November 1862 to 17 January 1863. He was absent after March 1864, with no further military record.
After the War
He died soon after the war.
