Before Sharpsburg
A 26 year old miller at Germanville, Edgefield District, he enlisted as Private, Company E, 7th South Carolina Infantry on 15 April 1861. He was appointed 3rd Corporal on 13 May 1862.
On the Campaign
He was wounded in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.
The rest of the War
He was promoted to 5th Sergeant on 6 July 1863 and was on duty to July 1864 with no further military record. He probably died during the war.
