Before Sharpsburg
A 24 year old farmer at Standing Spring, Greenville District, he enlisted as Private, Company K, 7th South Carolina Infantry on 9 August 1862.
On the Campaign
He was mortally wounded in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862 and died the next day in Shepherdstown, VA.
