Before Sharpsburg
Age 26, from Honea Path, Anderson District, he enlisted as Private, Company B, 7th South Carolina Infantry on 15 April 1861. He was sick in Virginia hospitals in July & August and November 1861, when he left the hospital without their knowledge, and again in February - March 1862.
On the Campaign
He was killed in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.
