A 30 year old farmer at Pickensville, Pickens District, he enlisted as Private, Company A, 7th South Carolina Infantry 9 August 1862.
On the Campaign
He was wounded in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.
The rest of the War
He was absent, recovering to the end of 1862. He was killed at Cold Harbor, VA on 3 June 1864.
